|page-14a Landscape <> colored pencil on paper 6-1/2" x 10-1/2"|
|You can blend colored pencil
using paint thinner. At times, it makes the colors more intense. I didn't
know the technique when
drawing this picture. I was using high pressure on the pencil to blend
colors. Interest was lost before completion <> I
was trying to finish each detail before moving forward to the next
section. I work better when the whole picture evolves at once.|
The picture somehow looks okay unfinished.
Blending colored pencil with paint thinner will darken the color, especially with a dirty brush. Paint thinner doesn't work well over yellows and whites. The technique lets you blend colored pencil, chalk, oil pastel, graphite etc on a single picture. I fournd the trick is moderation and clean the brush constantly.
