The
story is about relationship problems. The man is washed under a
wave of water and disdain caused by the woman's wake. In the
background, another woman is marking the event.
Here
I tried to break the concrete idea of human form having just two arms.
It sounds silly, but shows that people have many options when
choosing gestures to communicate with others and how gestures change as
responses dictate. The muddy colors surrounding the large face are
expressing the lady's distressed 'fur coat' state of mind. The oil
pastel was blended with paint thinner on brush. The background purple
mountain anchors
the other images and was done to mimic classic oil paintings <>
throwing old traditional references into abstract work serves as
abstraction but also 'legitimizes' the piece by footnoting. |
